At Sears & Son, furniture isn’t just what we build — it’s who we are. Our story began generations ago in New England shipyards, where a passion for craftsmanship ran as deep as the ocean. That legacy lives on today in Summerfield, Florida, where Travis Sears continues his family’s tradition of creating custom wood pieces that tell a story.

Travis grew up watching his father shape heirloom-quality furniture in the same shop he leads today, while his mother ran the family’s retail store showcasing those creations. After his father’s medical retirement, the shop transitioned into an antique mall, but the spirit of true craftsmanship never left.

A proud United States Marine Corps veteran, Travis served from 2005 to 2009 and deployed twice to Iraq. After his service, he carried his dedication and precision into aviation, becoming a helicopter pilot in 2010. Today, he serves as Chief Pilot for the Sumter County Sheriff's Office, where he has protected and supported the community for over 13 years.

During his time with the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marines, Travis served alongside many brave men — some of whom made the ultimate sacrifice. Their memory and courage remain an enduring source of inspiration for how he approaches life, family, and work: with integrity, respect, and a commitment to building something that lasts.

Outside the shop and cockpit, Travis is a devoted husband of 18 years and proud father to three sons. His family embodies the values that guide Sears & Son: integrity, dedication, and a love for creating something that lasts.

Travis’s dream is to one day revive the family’s original retail store, bringing custom, handcrafted furniture back to the community in a welcoming showroom — just like it was when he was a kid.
